AVA is proud to host the regional chapter of AIGA (American Institute for Graphic Arts) as the first exhibition to be held as part of AVA’s on-going community exhibition series. AVA will convert its main gallery three times per calendar year into a community space that will host a series of events designed to promote arts education across a wide demographic, including events ranging from artistic professional development, lectures, films as well as open forum discussions. AVA is inviting various creative professional groups to take advantage of our space to create an exhibit that not only showcases the talents and skills of such organizations, but also creates a challenging visual environment that educates the community on the importance of visual art in the Chattanooga Community.

Sunny D Children’s Theater is very happy to announce the dates for their 2008 Summer Theater Camp. The camp will be held the weeks of June 16th – 20th and the 23rd – 27th, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We welcome all children between the ages of 5 and 18. The Sunny D Camp will be held at the Blue Ridge Kiwanis Club Fairgrounds in Blue Ridge with and end of camp performance on June 27 & 28 at 7:00 p.m. on the main stage at the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Hampton Square.
This year’s camp theme is “Theatre Around The World Act II”, and the Executive Director will be Kristy Lindstrom.
The Sunny D Children’s Theater Committee is now taking applications for instructors, interns, and volunteers. Limited space available for campers and the deadline for registration is June 1, 2008. Scholarships are available!

Tours depart from, and return to, the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza, and last up to 1 ½ hours. The fee is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6-12. Children under 6 are free. Every Fourth Friday, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Creative Discovery Museum Science Theatre invites children and families to come have fun with science. Activity stations will be set up throughout the Science Theatre so that children can work through the areas at their own speed. Each station is staffed to provide directions needed to complete the activity and a science tidbit about the activity. Cost is $9 per child ages 4 and up. Creative Discovery Museum member cost is $8 per child. Younger children are welcome. We will have different age appropriate activities for younger scientists. parents are free.
